各位领导、各位班主任：
首先感谢学校领导给予我与各位班主任交流工作经验的机会，对于我而言，这次交流更像是一次学习的机会。担任班主任是一项光荣而艰巨的工作，坐在这里的每一位曾经担任过班主任的老师都应该有深刻的体会，因为我们都曾经历过摸索、探求、失败和成功。作为一个班主任，我也有着深刻的体验，班级管理涉及方方面面，而学生的思想又变化万千。特别是二十一世纪的孩子们，个性鲜明，见多识广，思维灵活。在我从事班主任工作的四年中，我不仅学到了很多知识，也有了很多心得体会。今天在这里与大家交流，希望能够得到大家的批评指正。
1、工作要有责任心
只有有责任心的班主任，工作才会实抓实干，才能管理好班级。
2、工作要细心
只有关心细微之处的班主任，才能及时发现学生的点滴进步，及时给予肯定和表扬，促使学生的进步得到认可，并激发他们养成良好习惯的动力。只有关注细节的班主任，才能及时察觉学生的不良行为，并即时进行批评和教育，早期消除不良行为的苗头。同时，也只有细心的班主任，才能制定出详尽的规章制度，让学生在每天、每时、每刻都有明确的行为准则和约束，使之成为他们行为的指导和依据。
3、工作要有耐心
班主任工作不是一朝一夕的工作，而是一项长期的工作。这一点主要体现在后进生的转化教育工作上。每个班级都有一些相对落后的学生，只要班主任把后进生教育好了，班级管理工作就有效了。但是，要完成后进生思想的转变，行为习惯的转变，却并非易事。因此，我们班主任也要学会打“持久战”。
4、把握几个尺度。
一、管与放的尺度
作为一个班主任，管理工作应该是最重要的事情，但是需要注意到我们管理的对象是成长中的学生。在实际工作中，班主任可以负责很多方面的管理，从学生的日常行为规范、着装，到他们的思想发展、前途规划，以及班级的建设与发展。许多班主任都非常热情，他们亲自参与班级工作，早晚跟着学生，无所不管，有时甚至扮演着"管家"、“警察”或“保姆”的角色。这种管理方式确实有其优点，因为班主任一直跟着学生，如果拥有足够的时间和精力，并且坚持三年如一日，班级的状况绝对不会变差。但是这种管理方式是最没有技术含量的，它的最大问题在于管得过多过死，容易造成学生过于依赖，创造力和独立性差，缺乏自我教育和自我管理的能力。最明显的表现就是，当班主任在场时，学生一个样子，但班主任离开后，学生又是另一番模样。这样培养出来的学生在大学里的发展空间会受到限制。同时，这种管理方式也容易让班主任陷入琐事之中，导致精疲力竭，不利于他们自身的提升和发展。
陶行知先生主张，“教是为了引导学生自己去学习”，魏书生老师也认同“管是为了让学生自己去管理”。从根本上说，他们的思想是要充分发挥学生在教育管理中的主体作用，实现“自我管理与指导相结合”。
我认为班主任在管理班级时承担着重要的责任。具体而言，班主任需要关注以下几个方面：首先，制定班级的长期目标，确定班级工作的整体思路；其次，培养一支强大而有能力的干部队伍，并进行指导和监督；再次，积极开展对个别学生和全体学生的思想工作，提高班级的凝聚力和向心力；最后，协调各方面的关系，形成教育合力。
而该放的要坚决放手，学生能干的，班主任坚决不要干。在做好以上工作的同时，班主任要大胆放手，把一些具体事务派下去，建立层次分明的立体型管理体系，如主题班会、每天的教室清洁、课间操甚至一些大型的活动等等。班主任要充分调动学生积极主动性，分工授权，引导学生参与管理，逐步锻炼和培养学生的自我教育和自我管理能力。但涉及到班级整体氛围、班风的事我是严格关注的，因为我认为这是大事儿。 总之，管大放小，管主放次，授权负责，分层管理，既有利于班级的建设与发展，又有利于学生个性完善、能力的提高。
二、活与静的尺度
一个班级活跃的氛围很好，但是也不能过于活跃，这就需要班主任具备驾驭这种氛围的能力和恰到好处的把握。常有教师抱怨自己班上的学生不够踏实，虽然课堂气氛很活跃，但一到考试就表现不佳，我认为这是度的问题。
在班级管理中，我认为有三个方面非常重要：第一是课堂氛围。我的第一个班级是20xx级的8班，在这一点上我感觉我是失败的，上课有点沉闷。当老师提出问题时，明明很多学生都知道答案，却不愿意说出来，导致课堂上的情绪无法提升，影响了课堂效率。为了改善这一点，我在带上一届的20xx级这个班时采取了两个我认为比较有效的措施来营造良好的课堂氛围。首先，在上课开始时，要求学生向老师充满激情地问好，这是一个良好的开端。可以想象，高亢的问候声既可以调动学生的激情，也可以激发老师的激情。其次，建议年级统一要求课桌上不能堆放过多的书籍，这样不想参与课堂的学生就无处可躲，能够有效地调动学生参与课堂的积极性。特别是在高三年级，这一点尤为有效。第二个必须要注意的方面是各项活动的活跃性。对于这一点，我认为大胆地放手让学生去完成可以有效激发学生的参与热情和积极性。在玩耍的时候要尽情享受，充分发挥自己的水平。例如，在运动会时，我从来不主张学生仅仅专注于学习。我的要求是尽情参与，没有项目的可以担任拉拉队员，或者从事服务工作。如果实在没有其他任务，也可以当观众。我告诉学生们，如果你总是坐在那里学习写作业，从小方面说你就是不积极不关心集体，从大方面说你是自私自利影响班级团结。大型活动是检验和提高一个班级凝聚力的最佳机会，因此班主任一定要重视，不能因为怕耽误学生的学习时间而有意避开或表现不积极，特别是在班级建立之初。第三个，也是最重要的一点，就是学生的性格活跃。学习是学生最重要的任务，但学习并不是唯一的'任务，而且学习成绩也不是孤立影响的，它由很多方面共同决定。特别是班主任在宏观把握上不能只关注学生的学习成绩高低。如果班上的学生没有良好的心态和开朗的性格，我认为学习效果会大打折扣。这就要求老师善于引导，在及时发现一些迹象的时候能够及时解决。特别是在与学生谈心的时候，不要总是强调学习学习，可以多谈谈他的特长，适当指出他的问题，让他觉得自己并不是一无是处，只需要坚持一下、多一点努力就可以做得更好。
一个班级除了活，还离不开静，静不能等同于死，我在班级管理中一直高调的提倡两个静字(到过我们班教室的老师可能都看到过，我们班教室的两侧墙上一直的挂着两个“静”字)：第一个静是学习的心态要静，人只有在心平气和的情况下才能有更高的效率，在这方面，我一直对学生说，在学习过程中，尤其是在自习时间，要能像僧人一样能够“入定”，学习过程中不能像一只兔子，外面的任何风吹草动都可以警觉的，这样是不可能搞好学习的，在这方面我对学生提出了一个要求，很简单，就是每次在自习课时，我进教室的时候，班上的绝大多数同学应该不知道我进来(当然我是安安静静的进教室)，在培养学生这方面的素质时尤其是要注意几个重点对象，要善于抓重点，把几个重点抓下来了，整个班级的氛围就上来了。第二个静是环境的安静，虽然在强调学生的心要静得下来，能够抗得住干扰，但我们还是要为他们尽可能的创造出良好的学习环境，这个良好的学习环境我比较关注的主要是三个时间段，一个是自习时间，一个是午休时间，还有一个是课间时间，可能前面的两个时间段都比较好理解，对于课间时间，很多老师可能并不理解，我是这么想的，很多会听课的学生往往在上课的时候把绝大部分精力都用在认真听课上，所以笔记做得比较马虎，只记了一个梗概，在下课的时候他们往往要用几分钟的时间对上节课的笔记进行初步整理，有些同学有课前预习的习惯，也需要相对安静的环境，所以即使是下课时间，我也要求学生保持教室的相对安静，虽然不一定像自习课那样绝对安静，但也不能太吵，需要休息的同学尽可能到教室外面休息放松，在学习环境方面，我有一个1>59的观念，就是班上有60个学生，即使只有一个学生在搞学习，另外59个学生都要为他创造良好的学习氛围，因为这个学生很可能就是你自己。去年学校作息时间改了后，下午两点一十上课，所以晚自习前的时间多出20分钟来，高三有很多班级都把晚自习进教室时间提前了20分钟，但我们班没有硬性要求你什么时候进教室，但有一点必须注意，就是你可以提前一点来，但只要你进了教室就必须安静下来，做不到这一点你就干脆迟一点，你可以不珍惜你自己的时间，但你没有权利影响他人的学习。
三、严与宽的尺度
严格管理一直以来都是学校对班主任管理工作的要求，而班主任也深知严格管理的重要性。然而，需要注意的是，“严”并不代表要严厉、冷酷地对待学生，严格管理更注重的是在原则和纪律上的执行。如果管理过于严苛，往往会导致学生个性受压抑、自卑感加重、自制力不佳，甚至可能引发学生的逆反心理，进而导致师生关系僵化。这既不利于学生身心健康的发展，也不利于班级工作的顺利进行。因此，班主任在进行严格管理时，应准确掌握尺度，做到严而有度。
严格管理班级，我认为注意这样几个方面的问题，一个是时间上，在新的班级建立之初，一定要有比较严格的管理，因为开始的严格便于学生的养成教育，一旦通过开始的严格管理使学生养成了良好的学习习惯和行为习惯，以后的管理就会事半功倍，在这方面，我们有一个做得非常好的老师，就是我们组的唐敏老师，他在这方面非常有心得，他带班往往也是以严格著称，但是他投入最多的时候就是在建班之初，用他的话说就是开始整顺了整服帖了，后面就轻松了，我也很赞成他的观点，所以也一直在努力向他学习。第二是各种规章制度觉得能执行的就制定，不能执行的就干脆不要，这样你将来的处罚才能够严格执行，不能让学生有漏洞可钻。第三就是严格的处罚也要讲技巧，班主任一定要注意不能完全的一视同仁，不同的人要有不同的处理方法，一是惯犯与偶犯，我常给我的学生说，人无完人，谁都可能犯错，所以我允许大家犯错，比如说迟到的问题，我敢说，就是在座的各位，谁都不敢说自己从来没有迟过到，所以我认为学生偶尔迟到是一件非常正常的事儿，但是一定要区分偶尔迟到和经常迟到，偶尔迟到是可以原谅的，但是经常迟到就变成了一中习惯，有迟到习惯的同学绝对不能姑息，所以有时候我们班同样两个同学迟到，但一个可以只是稍微提醒就回到自己的座位上上自习，但另一个则只能站在教室后排上完自习，有时候甚至还有更严厉的处罚，比如说跑步，甚至联合家长一起做专项治理。二是不同身份的同学的处理方法也应该有所区别，对于班级的主要班干部，在公共场合有问题一定要处罚，但同时也要爱护，你想啊，任何一个管理者都需要有自己的铁杆，如果所有人都不和你站在一边，自己不就成了光杆司令了吗，以后自己的治班思路和各项规定还怎么贯彻下去呢，所以这些同学一定要打一下还要摸一下，也就是不能把自己的核心队伍打散了(但如果你觉得某个班干部不适合还是要果断的换掉);对于那些成绩很好的同学犯了错误，一定要敢于批评，因为往往这些同学都是班里的榜样，榜样的力量是无穷的，如果这些同学不能管下来，他们产生的负面作用将是巨大的，班上一定不能有特殊的尖子生;最后是对于那些屡教不改的顽固分子要学会冷处理，要通过管理的手段在班级舆论上孤立他，让他在班内没有市场，甚至有时候他犯了错也不理他，让他和班级的同学都感觉他是一个特殊的人，当他感觉到孤独的时候，他自然会慢慢的回到主流中来的，和这样的人对着杆，吃亏的往往是班主任，受损的往往是班级氛围，最得意的是那些想出风头的学生，除非你已经决定让他离开或者判断他可以用强硬的手段一次性把他拿下。在处理一些问题的时候，也可以通过选择性发现来回避一些矛盾，也就是自己不太想处理的人和事可以巧妙的移开自己的视线，假装没有看见，而对于必须要处理的人和事则要明察秋毫，这也是一种技巧，也需要一个尺度的把握。最后，在原则问题面前，就没有这么多区别了，不管是谁，只要犯了原则性错误，那就是毫不客气的，比如说影响他人学习的，扰乱课堂秩序的，顶撞老师的，考试舞弊的等等。严还必须与宽有效结合起来，灵活处理。当然，不管是谁，处罚之后，班主任要私下做好被处罚学生的思想工作，使其正确认识错误，并努力改正。同时，对学生违纪处罚的方式要多样化，要寓教育于处罚之中。大家耳熟能详的魏书生老师对学生犯错误的处罚的三个一：唱一支歌，做一件好事，写一份关于错误的说明。他就把处罚变为生动的自我教育的做法，对我们是一个很好的启迪。
工作实践中，严和宽是教育中的两个重要方面，相辅相成又对立统一。严并不意味着冷酷无情，宽也并非纵容放任。只有在教育中做到“严中有度，宽中有爱，爱中有教”，我们才能够实现预期的教育效果。
四、与学生的关系尺度
亦师亦友，师生关系是一个常用的词汇，用来形容良好的师生互动。对于年轻的班主任来说，在掌握师和友的尺度上可能会有一些难度。在我看来，师和友中倾向于师的角色更为重要。师与友最大的不同之处在于严肃性和权威性。在教室和课堂上以及处理问题时，你就是老师，必须保持严肃和权威。尤其是在处理一些原则性问题时，不允许学生嬉笑调侃。作为班主任，必须具备控制局面的魄力。例如，自习课上进入教室时，如果里面吵闹，只需一声“安静”，教室立刻安静下来；当处理一个同学问题时，他和你嬉笑调侃，只需一声“严肃点”，他会立刻站好规矩。如果此时还和他讲“友情”，那就表明你作为班主任无能。当然，这样的权威和严肃并不是通过自己大喝一声来实现的，而应该是学生对你的尊敬感的结果。在关键时刻，学生敬畏你、服从你，是因为他们对你的尊敬。这就不得不提到“友”这个词。我认为师生之间的友好关系主要体现在老师关心学生以及学生对老师的信任上。在这一点上，主动权在于老师。只有当老师真正关心学生、在生活中接近他们时，学生才会对老师产生足够的信任感，才愿意与老师交流。这种交流就是一种友谊。在拉近师生间距离方面，我觉得陈晓伟老师做得非常出色。他曾经说过一句让我印象深刻的话。有一次，我准备去体育馆打球时，碰到陈老师拿着一个羽毛球拍从体育馆走出来。熟悉他的老师都知道，陈老师的羽毛球技术并不好。我开玩笑地说：“你应该打不过你的学生吧。”他回答：“我确实打不过，但我的目的是向他们示弱。”就是这句话让我至今仍在思考，原来示弱也是一种技巧，也是拉近师生关系的有效方法。很多老师都不愿意在学生面前示弱，希望在学生面前扮演神的角色。然而，我认为这样只会与学生疏远。事实上，要让学生愿意接近你，首先得让他们认为你也是一个普通人，有自己的弱点，让学生感受到在生活中他们完全可以接近你。这真是一种理想境界。然而，要达到这样的境界，还有许多需要体会的。我觉得在这方面的尺度把握还远远不够，一直在不断探索中。也希望各位能给予我帮助。

But pi sia did find such a man, who was his friend named dameng. Then pi sia went home to bid farewell with mother as he wished.
Days passed quickly, and the term of imprisonment was near at hand, but pi sia had not turned back yet. Most people ascertained that pi sia had deceived his friend.
It was a rainy day when demeng was sent to the execution ground, all persons watching around laughed at him, but demeng himself was not worried at all. The rope was hanging on his neck, and just at the critical moment, one person ran quickly through the rain shouting loudly,"please wait, I'm coming!" it was pi sia who turned back in time.
This was the most moving curtain in the world. demeng took no care of himself in order to help his friend realize the duty, whose kind of spirit was moved one to tears. While pi sia did not hesitate to take life as the price for performing the promise, whose kind of courage was also rare to meet. 二、构建协调高效课堂
现在正处于应试教育向素质教育转轨时期，既要求减轻负担，又要求提高教育质量，这就要求必须在课堂上下功夫，提高课堂效率：
1、认真备课。
大家都晓得，备好课是上好课的前提，备课包括备课标、备教材、备学生、备教法，备学法。教师要根据课程尺度请求，当真钻研教材，借助有关资料，了解、分析和掌握学生研究的立场、方法、能力和研究中存在的困难；选择最佳教学策略，确立合理的课堂教学模式，制定具体的教学环节，达到教学进程的最优化组合，有利于实现学生当堂掌握常识。看课程标标使我明白了课程的总目标，也深入的理解了英语课程的工具性与人文性的统一，明白了英语教学在培养学生们初步的综合语言运用能力的基础上，还肩负着促进心智成熟，提高综合人文素养的重任，为教学的设计指明了方向。备教材，上课前翻阅各种材料、教师用书、研究资料及以往的相招考题，对于哪些是重点难点，哪些常识点扩展到什么水平，会以什么形式出题，做到心中有数。备学生，就是要了解学生的年龄特点、接受能力、常识储备情况，这样可以免起点太高，学生听不懂，或起点太低，学生感到无聊的情况。备教法。每一级每个班学生特点各不相同，所以要注重仔细研究学生，采纳适合学生的方法导入新课，用学生易于掌握的方法讲解新知，用学生感兴趣的方法组织课堂活动。
2、用激情带动学生，焕发课堂活力。
我请求自己在备好课的基础上，每节课都满怀热忱地走进教室，哪怕身材不适、满心烦恼，在站上讲台，面向学生的那一刻，我都市面带笑脸，因为快乐的情感可以传染，假如你把快乐的情感、积极地心态传染给学生，他的研究效力可能会成倍增长。
3、精讲多练，提高课堂效率。
初中生的注意力集中工夫只能持续十五到二十分钟。假如仍然是“一张嘴，一支笔，从课首讲到课尾。”的教学模式，就会呈现“老师讲得天花乱坠，学生听得昏昏欲睡”的现象。新课程理念请求我们重视学生在课堂上的主体地位，少讲多练。少讲并不意味着粗略讲解，一带而过。初中生的接受能力还是有限，对于重难点的常识，根据学生特点细致的讲解，多举例，多操练，讲一点，练一点，讲练结合，让大多半学生都能跟上，参与活动。讲得太粗太快，学生跟不上，学不会，久而久之，就会慢慢失去研究兴趣。

英语学科知识点多而杂，致使部分学生因记不住而失去兴趣。我会经常用各种灵活的活动帮助他们记忆，使学生轻松的掌握知识，提高兴趣。比如在初一教音标时，我用一个小故事把十二个单元音音素连起来，易于他们记忆，还有二十一个辅音字母的发音我也编了与发音相匹的动作帮助他们记忆。研究词汇eye时，用联想法可以帮助他们记忆，也可用谐音教学door，告诉学生门是用来防盗的，所以坟墓的意思，发音是土墓，再比如umbrella谐音像俺不来了，因为下雨没伞。教学语法时，比如时态的教学，可以把几大时态的构成及用法比较对比研究，比较级最高级的教学，用实物或班里的同学设置真实的语境，操练句型。运用灵活的教学方法，可以降低研究的难度，激发学生们研究的兴趣。
三、经常查缺补漏，及时抓弱补偏
在提高课堂效力的基础上，还要指点、督促学生搞好课外复，防止常识的忘记，并经常进行检查测试，多批多改，及时发觉题目，办理题目。对于存在的题目，要有针对性的进行磨炼，并在下一步的教学中继续加以渗透，穿插复。对于存在题目的学生，耐心讲解，明确请求，基础常识，跟踪检查，人人过关。组织各小组互相检查所学基础常识，单词句型的听写背诵，用分数做好记录，一周一统记，对背的好的同学及时评价鼓励，对学困生先要做思想工作，多用鼓励性语言，调动其研究积极性。善于发觉他们的每一点进步，及时进行表扬鼓励，一定其成绩，提出进一步请求，引导他们争取更大的进步。班里一名学生，总成绩在班里十名左右，是升学的边缘生。我一看他的成绩，数理化很好，英语只有伍十几分，于是我找他谈话，给他分析了升学情况和他的现实情况，告诉他：“你只要把英语提上一点点，哪怕只考六十几分，你就有把握考上

四、对教师的理解
1、教师首先是教诲者，其次才是教学者。
2、教师要自我发展。北京的培训真正让我了解了人外有人，天外有天的道理。无论是大学教授还是一线教师，都即是理论专家，又是实践高手。他们的秘诀就是要与时俱进，要与学生同步。和老师已到退休年龄还每天写反思，听英文广播，每周看一本与教学有关的书籍。
3、教师要协作发展。靠教师一人的力量很难办理一些教学中的实际困难。一个学校优秀的成绩背后一定有一个连合协作和具有科研立异精神的团队。单打独斗无法创造一个学科的辉煌。
我想教诲教学需要“众人划桨开大船”。你一个经验，我一个经验，就是两个经验；你一个方法，我一个方法，就是两个方法。教诲资源需要共享，教学经验需要交换，教学方法需要互学。在教学中，教研组成员假如一起探叨教学疑心，教学方法，新的教学理念，我们一定能在提高自己教学能力、自身素质的同时，共同去打造我校高效教学的新场面。

一、转变课堂教学模式
有人认为历史是一门老师好教、学生好学的学科。对于学生来说，不需要有什么基础，只要认真学习就不会有太大的问题。但是在现实教学中我所面临的问题是：有的学生不爱学，学的不认真、不积极，惰性极强。面对这种情况，我在上课时灵活运用“五步短动式教学法”，将课堂分解为“看一看”、“说一说”、“听一听”、“议一议”、“练一练”五个环节，穿插于整节课,使师生之间一直处于互动状态，尽量提高学生注意力。敢于放手，注意培养学生的各方面能力，把大部分的讲授时间交还给学生使用,发挥学生的主体作用。在课堂上不
为了能够给所有学生提供平等的学习机会，我们特别注重创造条件和机会，让那些遇到学习困难的学生有更多参与课堂学习的机会。我们致力于帮助他们重新获得自信，并尝试成功后所带来的喜悦，从而再次点燃他们对学习的兴趣。
二、小组评价机制渗透到课堂内外
课堂上组织学生以学习小组为单位参与学习，回答问题即可得到相应的'分数，然后把分数统计作为评选“优秀小组”的依据。尤其对一些学困生，我往往采用学困生答对问题加双倍分，帮助他们树立自信心，不放弃学习。利用小组评价机制也打破了课堂沉闷、死板的状态，激发了学生主动学习的热情。我还把小组评价机制沿用到课后的作业和知识点背诵的检查中。在作业中，书写工整、规范并且及时改错的就给予加分;而对于那些不认真完成作业、不及时改错的就减分，并鼓励他们在课堂上通过积极参与课堂将因为自己所丢的分数赚回来。在知识点背诵的检查中，凡是按照老师要求全组同学都背诵完的就给予加分，班上第一个背诵完的小组给予双倍加分。大大提升了学生学习的积极性。通过一个学期的实践，证明小组评价机制的运用是行之有效的。
三、重视学生兴趣的培养

It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.
The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.
It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.

Having fun
When having to make a choice most people think they have to choose between the two. Far too often people go for the latter and naturally choose fun. For instance many people would prefer watching television, or more commonly known as TV to exercising, we all know that it’s true, right? The problem is, if you don’t exercise you will become weak and ultimately out of shape and it is no fun to be out of shape, right? So the question is, why not turn exercise into fun?
As an example, if TV is your favorite thing to do, why not connect your TV set to an electric generator that is charged by a stationary bike, you know, the kind of bike you peddle, that doesn’t go anywhere. So think about it, the more you watch TV, the fitter you’ll be.
Now if you are the kind of person who thinks listening to music is fun and you spend many hours alone tap tap tapping your fingers and your toes to the beat, why not take it one step further and get up on your feet and dance, dance, dance.
Or maybe you’re the type of person who prefers being with your friends. There are many ways one could have fun with their pals. For instance you could just hang out and do nothing or better yet you could get into a friendly game of basketball or football there is no rule that says everyone has to be as good as Yao Ming or David Beckham, right?
However sometimes there just aren’t enough players, or you may even be alone in which case you could go for a ride on your bike, maybe, stop by the library to borrow a book, or go for a walk around the park and enjoy the sunshine and scenery. Before you know it, you’re having fun.
Let’s face it, exercise is work and when we think of work we think of thankless underpaid hardships yet it needn’t be this way, if we think of exercise as fun.
